Sorry, somehow some words got missing..

Within 6 months, you will speak some German, but it will be on a lower level. If you need to write/correspond with German companies, you should have a good level of German.

I honestly do not believe that within 6 months you will only reach a level that doesnt allow you to correspond on a high level (which is of course asked if you have to communicate with companies) .

Within 6 months it is possible if you are in a German speaking country or surrounded by a lot of GErman speaking people.

I don't think how long, but one things I can tell you is that German isn't very hard because you're already good at English. At first, German looks different from English, but later you'll find out there are a lot of common things in both languages. (I even noticed one common thing while I was taking a German exam!)

There are a lot of variables of course.. I would say that yes, six months is enough. I recommend at least an hour a day, every day. If you're really serious, you could do 4 hours a day and make huge progress in a month. First priority.. master the pronunciation.

If your English is already very good, learning to read and understand conversational German can be accomplished relatively quickly. Mastering the grammar requires some practice, but is well worth it. How much do you want it? :)
