For native English speakers. Is this article natural?

Some people who are not native English speakers made the book and this is the part of it.

1. By the early 1900s, the silent movie industry had grown into a successful international business, earning a firm position in the popular culture of the day. Without sound, the audience understood plot and character through exaggerated actions or visual cue cards displaying inportant text that were inserted into the storyboard at appropriate times. Occasionally, movie reels traveled the country with live musicians, adding soundtrack to enhance storytelling and live troupes would accompany each film and speak the dialogue of the on-screen actors, providing the audio to complement the images. This satisfied some members of the audience, but what people truly craved was to hear the natural speech patterns of their favorite stars.

The technology to reproduce dialouge already existed in the form of the phonograph, an early record player invented by Thomas Edison, which was sold to arcades where customers could pay to listen to a piece of music or a speech through an individual ear tube.

2. Although not operas in the modern sense, these integrated entertainments fostered collaboration among the arts and prompted the theoretical justifications upon which true opera ㅡ and ballet, whose early development runs parallel ㅡ was built. The Florentine Camerata, a group of composers and dramatists active in Florence around 1600, set out to revive the great traditions of the classical Greek stage, in which music and drama reinforced each other.

The writing style is rather formal, but yes it is natural. If you hadn't said that they weren't native speakers I probably wouldn't have known.

One sentence that I would change slightly though would be

"Occasionally, movie reels traveled the country with live musicians, adding soundtrack to enhance storytelling and live troupes would accompany each film and speak the dialogue of the on-screen actors, providing the audio to complement the images."

I would have said instead

"Occasionally, musicians traveled/would travel the country with the movie reels, adding a soundtrack to enhance the storytelling and live troupes (sounds out of place) would accompany each film and speak the dialogue of the on-screen actors, providing the audio to complement the images."

This is is being picky though. There may be a couple tiny mistakes in the rest of those paragraphs, but nothing too egregious.

It is natural for college papers or college books of some sort, it just uses an advance vocabulary which merely adds percision to the article in order to be more exact.
