I like spoken English:)
If you are able to, I really do think having lessons with a professional tutor would be a good idea.
An experienced professional tutor is able to provide expert help. In addition, he or she will be familiar with precisely what the IELTS exam involves. This means he or she can determine which of the tested areas you are weak in, and work with you to address those weaknesses.
I think speaking to yourself in English whenever there's a chance is a great way to practice. I did that when I was preparing for my TOEFL, and I did pretty well on the speaking part:)
