Which is according to you the best way to learn phrasal verbs in english?
By serching a pdf file to print, I found out that the list contains more than 1000 verbs.
What do you recommend me to do? Memorize all of them seems almost impossible.
My english level requests a deeper knowledge of them, not only : look after, for....
Thanks for you suggestions :)
Hi Penelope,
Using a list or looking up definitions for phrasal verbs will probably frustrate you more than anything else. The thing to remember is that phrasal verbs can change meaning between sentences, which makes them very flexible for us to use, but infuriating when you're trying to get your head around them.
One example is to go off, which can mean explode, make a loud sound, depart, become inedible, lose one's temper, lose one's appetite or even be very successful. As native speakers, we know the meaning by looking at the full sentence. So, learn them in context, keep your mind open, and avoid looking for single, fixed definitions - especially if the verb is common.

NB: The definition that the game gives for each phrasal verb is only for that sentence.
