Hello From Atlanta!

Here is a discussion in which all English learners to practice their written language skills!

I'm from Atlanta, Georgia, USA, and I've always been curious about how the world views my native ity. We were host to the Olympics in 1996 and are home to several Fortune 500 companies, such as Coca-Cola, Turner Broadcasting, and UPS, but many Americans outside of the southeast still consider Atlanta a small city (even though the population of the metropolitan area is over 5 million). I'm curious what, if anything, you as citizens of other countries know about Atlanta. Also, if you have been here, what do you think of it?

If you have no experience with Atlanta, what do you think about the United States in general? What have you been taught about our culture? I find it fascinating, the things we teach ourselves about other people without actually going to the source! If there's anything you want to know about the US, feel free to ask =) Tell me a little bit about your city and/or country too! I'd love to read it, and it will give you a chance to practice your English.

Actually, this the first time I hear of Atlanta. I'm glad that I gained those new information. As for my country, am from Egypt. It's an African country which consists of more than 80 millions people. It has got many tourist sites,  like the Pyramids. It also has Nile river.

Honestly, I think I have no idea about how Atlanta looks like as the city, but I know that it is the capital of the state of Georgia, but most of people don't know even that fact. And usually, people don't know the names of all the states of America, in Russia I may say, because I don't know if most of Europeans know all of them, but more likely they don't know it too, sorry :)

But I think it's ok because I'm sure that Americans also don't know all regions of Russia, for example, and even think that we have winter all year haha And it's really funny when people know the truth, that we have summer too and even very hot summer :)

And as for the USA, I can only say that I think it is a different world, maybe it is simpler in some ways, but with its own oddities :)

And if you want to read about my city, I can say that I'm from Kazan and my city is one of the cleanest and beautiful in my country and it got second name "the sports capital of Russia".

Because my city takes part in many sports competitions. In 2013 we were host to the Universiade and that year we will hold the FINA World Championships.
