Some Spanish grammar problems that I don't really understand, and would like to have some help!

I have some DELE A2 questions would need some help!

Hola todos! I've been studying the previous DELE questions and I found several grammatical problems that I don't really understand.
I googled, yet still have no idea about following examples.

1. Rellena el formulario con tusdatos personales en mayúsculas y no olvides enviarlo por correo lo antesposible.

I understand the first "lo" from "enviarlo" means the formulario, but what exactly does the second "lo" after "correo" mean?

Y:

1. Además demejorar el diseño reduciendo el tamaño
2. ... con los animales, compartirán sus cuidados, atenciones y sonidos característicos, recreando de este modo un ambiente rural en los alrededores del campamento.

"reduciendo" in the first sentence and "recreando" in the second sentence.

I still see many of them in the next test sheet lol, but I do believe if I understand them now, the rest of them won't be a problem.

I have no idea why they use El Gerundio here, while there isn't any estar behind the words. I am not sure what grammar should be applied here, and I've been searching all afternoon for this but in vain.

If it is not El Gerundio, please tell me what is omitted, or I was led to the wrong direction.

I would be really grateful if someone can help me with these questions.

Thanks a lot!

最近在寫 A2 的考古題碰到了一些問題... ...

1. Rellena el formulario con tusdatos personales en mayúsculas y no olvides enviarlo por correo lo antesposible.

能理解第一個 enviarlo 的 lo 代替為表格的意思,但 correo 後的 lo 是什麼意思呢?
想了很久都想不到這 lo 是為了代替哪一個名詞。

以及

1. Además demejorar el diseño reduciendo el tamaño 中的 "reduciendo"

Hi! Let's see if I can help :)

1. Rellena el formulario con tusdatos personales en mayúsculas y no olvides enviarlo por correo lo antesposible.

I understand the first "lo" from "enviarlo" means the formulario, but what exactly does the second "lo" after "correo" mean?

-The second ''lo'' is a part of the adverbial locution (not sure if in English they call it this way).
We have ''adverbios'' and ''locuciones adverbiales'' (group of words that together they work as an adverb).
In this case ''Lo antes posible'' is one of these ''locuciones adverbiales''. We cannot separate this ''lo'' from it. The meaning is equal to= as soon as possible.
-----------------------------

For the second question the form ''gerundio'' has several uses apart of being part of the ''perífrasis estar+gerundio''.

We use the ''gerundio non personal form'' to abreviate different kinds of sentences as: oraciones temporales, causales, modales, condicionales y concesivas:
For example in the case you mention is an ''oración modal'':

-relación modal e instrumental (¿Cómo?)

Ejemplo: Conseguimos ganar luchando enérgicamente.

1. Además de mejorar el diseño reduciendo el tamaño=mejoramos el diseño reduciendo el tamaño
We improve the design (how? Cómo?) reducing the size.

I hope this answers your questions

¡Saludos!

First of all, thank you so much for answering these questions!(and for some typos which I didn't intend to do)

I didn't even consider it as a phrase, guess I'd better change the way I see the sentences from now on.

As for the gerundio part, indeed it is a truly useful website that explains it clearly and precisely. I was wondering if it has a similar structure in those two sentences, yet was lost.

I'm really grateful to your help! Especially your advice, I'll try my best not to apart every sentence I see.

Muchas Gracias!

Hi Allison, it doesn't really mean anything in my opinion. "Lo" in this context is just a neuter pronoun, and it forms the adverb "lo antes posible" - "as soon as possible" in English.

"Lo" can be used to form adverbs in Spanish in some cases.

E.g. Eres (lo) suficientemente inteligente. (You're smart enough)

E.g. Eres lo bastante inteligente. (You're smart enough)

My advice to anyone who is studying Spanish, and who values their sanity, is to chunk certain types of words and phrases together. Breaking up sentences, and trying to understand every little word in isolation is a recipe for disaster.

The sentence translates into "Complete the form with your personal information in (block) capitals, and don't forget to send it by post as soon as possible."

Here's a link that may help you with the "gerundio" problem: http://spanish.about.com/od/verbs/a/gerund_alone.htm

Good day!

Now I learn two more nouns which can help me clarify the grammar part ;)

I was having hard time translating those two sentences, but now them seem cuter and easier than ever.

I will sure add ¿Cómo? whenever I see the gerundio without estar, and see if it makes sense!

I really appreciate for your help! I can't imagine how much time I have to brood these questions without both of your help!
