I'm a writer. I don't want to sound like I'm selling my books, but if anyone is interested I can send them a free copy of my book, Happy Juice. It's written in everyday, modern English, which can be better to practice reading. It's also not too long!

A play about discovering what is important in life. A travelling gypsy offers an elixir, Happy Juice, which gives complete happiness to the person who drinks it. The catch, however, is the price: you have to give up what is most important to you.

Review by K.C.:
It was a different experience to read a stage script, but I enjoyed it. Also, it was so much more than I was expecting from the book blurb! I thought it would be mostly about what people might sacrifice to be "happy", but really it gets pretty deeply into issues of prejudice and friendship and greed and abuse. From the description on Amazon, I wasn't sure that I'd like it, but I totally did.

The play also gives more opportunities for the female members, (in particular the more mature ones), of theatre companies: 16 parts, including the main character, compared to 10 parts for the men.

Contact me if you're interested.

Simon.
