THE / A / AN (For Spanish speakers learning English)

The / A / An

We use a/an when referring to un/una in Spanish. (non-specific)
We use The when referring to el/la. (specific)

Examples:
The pencil is green. (Specific)

I need a pencil. (Non-specific)

I bought a comb and a pencil yesterday.

The comb is black.

John is a student.

John is the best student.

Does this make sense to you?

I am trying to put something together for my students and I need to know if I need to be a little more specific. Any input will be appreciated.
