What should I know from Budapest? What do you suggest me, people? I'll be there for five days. It is enough to discover this city?
In few hours I will start my trip :)
I will try to enjoy all the places you have recomended...and probably thermas will be one of them!
Thank you very much people!!!
But Budapest is great, I have been there twice before. I concur that the thermal baths are great. Make sure you try some pálinka.
My advice. Be very cautious of taxis, take the metro instead.
I agree with the other members - go sit in the baths!
A couple of them (eg. Kiraly) offer a discount on weekdays, ie. if you enter in the morning and leave before 12, you get part of the entry fee refunded.
If you're interested in recent history, Memento Park and the House of Terror are fascinating:
Enjoy the metro, especially the yellow line! :)
We visited Budapesht last autumn. It was a weekend trip (3 days in total) and we walked a lot through the whole city centre. So in my opinion 5 days is enough. You should definetely go to the thermas, it's outstanding.
One note about Budapesht - if you want to go to a good restaurant - make a reservation. All attractive places which we found was by reservation only. We did a reservation in one restaurant and came there next day, meals was very good. But the average level of food in Budapesht is average, Prague for example has much tasty food.
Have a nice trip!
