Encouraging people

If you know you are going to have a busy week ahead of you ,what could encourage you to look at the bright side?
How do you think employees should be rewarded for a job well done?
What would you tell the person who need you to encourage?

In my experience it's always valuable to paint the picture of what the end result will look like, and use that to inspire people to get through any difficult or complicated work in order to make it happen.  Then, when people start doing it, look for opportunities to praise them on their first steps and remind how each step they take will bring them closer to the end result.  Ultimately the end result should be seen as desirable or somehow in their own what's in it for them (even if it's just personal gratification).

Just fire the discouraging people, and you're set.

Sometimes is as simple as telling them directly that they are doing a good job and keep doing it. Let them know how impotant they are for you and the company. Tell them about their progress. You can also include some gift or rewards such money, a trip, mentioning him/her in a public meeting, etc...

I think getting a reward would encourge me to work, or having a beautiful co worker :D

I think money or trip are the best rewards

actually I don't know how to encourage someone
