Is there any supermarket club card that have the same features as a bank card?

In a supermarket checkstand context:

A: Do you have a club card or will it be cash?
B: Yeah I got a club card. Here you go.
A: Will this be debit or credit?
B: Debit please. Also, could I get cash back? Fifty dollars would be great.

So in this supermarket checkout system, does it mean that its club card has the same features  as a bank card which has both debit and credit functions?

Since the cashier asks the shopper which functions of the club card he would like to use, debt or credit.Hope i understand it right.

i am a little confused about this though.

This is a really good question because it can be very confusing and quite often is not covered in English Language books!

I can only answer for the UK (not sure about other English speaking countries) but club card does not mean the same as a bank card. It does not have either credit or debit functions.

A club card is something related to a particular brand or chain of supermarkets that is designed to encourage loyalty amongst shoppers and also allows the retailer to collect information about shopping habits. Indeed probably the best know in the UK is from Tesco Supermarkets and called a Club Card. Other brands issue cards with other names (for example 'Nectar' for Sainsburys). You are asked to present the card to the checkout operator, who swipes it (passes it through an electronic device that reads your information). Each time the card is used you collect points that you can exchange for discounts on a wide range of activities (leisure, travel, etc). Your text really needed a bit of extra information to help you understand it, as follows:

A: Do you have a club card or will it be cash?
B: Yeah I got a club card. Here you go. (hands over club card to the checkout operator, who swipes it and hands it back)
A: Will this be debit or credit?
B: Debit please.(hands over debit card to checkout operator) Also, could I get cash back? Fifty dollars would be great
