Milan in Italy: local advice, what to see

Hello iTalki users :)

I'm going to travel to Milan, Italy. I haven't been in the city and I don't know much about it. That is the reason why I came up with this question here.

I would like to hear what places should I visit? Do you have any local advices I should consider? Anything special to obey in Milan?

I appreciate every piece of advice, you can post some thoughts here or send me a personal message.

Of course there are better places on the internet to post this kind of question. However, you can practise how to steer me to some places or how to recount about your country, therefore I think it is not an inappropriate question here.

Thank you so much.

Oh Milan is a beauty city if you love Art. You could visit the Castello sforzesco (Castle Sforzesco); "l'ultima cena" of Leonardo da Vinci. The Pinacoteca di Brera: the museum of the twentieth century (museo del Novecento) where  you could see the exhibition of Klein and Fontana. The Church of S. Ambrogio. And much more...

Definitely spend some time around i Navigli, eg. il Naviglio Grande. Milan isn't the prettiest of Italian cities (it's famously rainy and grey) but I like this area with its marketplaces.

In the city centre (eg. around Duomo), watch your bag and pockets.

In the evening, look for "happy hour" in the cafes - they put on a wonderful buffet! Some are free if you buy a drink, others might have a basic price which includes the first drink.
