Have you tried using Twitter for language learning?

I want to start writing in Russian more frquently, but I find that often I just don't have enough time or inspiration to write a full notebook entry here. So I thought I might try experimenting with twitter. Although tweets aren't quite going to give me the same practice as writing a longer text, it does mean it's feasible to write at least a phrase or two each day without too much trouble. You can follow me @sillyforeigner

I've no idea if this experiment will work or not. Has anyone else tried this or something similar?

On second thought, why not just talk to people here on iTalki? There's no need to wade through Twitter when you can come here for a community interested in langage learning.

@Scott it's really for my writing practice and getting a few sentences done here and there. I'm not sure that italki or skype is really conducive to that. Of course I am intending that Twitter is addition to what I do here in italki.

@Yannick, I'm not learning Chinese in Mainland China so I'm not too worried ;–)

This definitely doesn't work for Chinese from Mainland China.....~T_T~
