Today, my sister and I went to the barber shop, to get our hair done. Our school is very strict and a short hair is required. Now, we look like two boys and we cant even recognize ourselves. But we shouldnt be sad and accept reality instead.

Today, my sister and I went to the barber shop to have (or - get) our hair cut. Our school is very stringent, and we must have very short hair. Now, we are two girls that look like boys. We can't recognize ourselves. But we shouldn't be sad, and accept the reality.

Very good, well done. I know this happens in Chinese schools. It is a little sad. My girl students at university often had photos where they looked like boys!
