Hockey match against Russia Yesterday Czech hockey team beated "Russian" team ( I do not remember how the Olympic Committee call them, so I will call them Russians :D). The match was very interesting. The first third ended 1:1 and was not so interesting. The second third was much more interesting, especially after the match penalty for the Russian player Voronkov. Needless to say, the Voronkov's match penalty was very strict from referees. The Czech team took an advantage of five-minute power play, scored twice in a short time and leaded 4:2. The Russian team's members concentrated themselves and very quickly turned the score to 5:4 for their team. Their leadership took just few seconds, though, since our player Hyka scored too and the score was even. The match ended even after the last third so an overtime was played. The five-minute overtime was about to end, when Czech player Shulak scored in other power play. The final score was 6:5 for Czech team. Overall, the match was a pleasure to see. All players did well and the final score was fantastic. The Russian team called us "group of malingerers" after the match in reference to Voronkov's strict penalty. On the other hand, the rules must be obey and hitting other player in head means match penalty, even though I agree that Voronkov's attack was not serious and he should get casual two-minute penalty.

Hockey match against Russia. Yesterday the Czech hockey team beat the "Russian" team ( I do not remember what the Olympic Committee call/calls them, so I will call them Russian :D). The match was very interesting. The first period ended in the 1:1 draw and was not so interesting. However, the second period was much more interesting, especially after the Russian player Voronkov was sent off. Needless to say, the Voronkov's penalty was very strict from the referees. The Czech team took advantage of the five-minute power play, scored twice in a short time and gave led 4:2. The Russians pulled themselves together and very quickly turned the score around to 5:4 for their team. Their lead took just a few seconds, though, since our player Hyka hit back and the score was tied again. The match ended in a draw, so overtime was played. The five-minute overtime was about to end, when the Czech player Shulak scored in another power play. The final score was 6:5 to Czechia. Overall, the match was a pleasure to watch. All players did well and the final score was fantastic. The Russians called us "a bunch of malingerers" after the match with the reference to Voronkov's strict penalty. On the other hand, the rules must be obeyed and hitting other players on the head means a match penalty, even though I agree that the Voronkov's attack was not serious and he should have got a casual two-minute penalty.
Great job! I didn’t see the match, so it was interesting to read your text. I feel like Olympic hokey is just not the same now that the NHL banned their players from taking part in the games.
