Which one is grammatically correct and natural enough? 1) They always try to
justify their acts by individual liberty. 2) They always try to justify their
acts with individual liberty.
Good question Shahbaz,
If you use ‘by’, you then need to talk about a method/action (a gerund/ing verb). E.g. they always try to justify their acts by quoting individual liberty.
So from your examples, the second one is better.
Hope this helps!
