In many cases, 'strive' and 'struggle' can be used interchangeably. However, 'strive' means more to put in an effort. 'Struggle' implies that there is some difficulty to overcome or some force working against you. "He strove for better grades." "The school strives for excellence." "He struggled in his studies due to his learning disability." "The school is struggling for money."
