asking about the word Quite
when we say i am quite sure it means competley sure; however, when we say quite expensive, do we mean very expensive or moderately expensive?
how about " quite hot out there"? is it very hot or moderately hot?

Quite can mean to the highest extent. (As in your example, "quite sure".)
It can also mean to a certain degree. (Ex. quite hot)

The way u say it,tone etc,also matter a lot.
Normally,I would prefer the former u've mentioned.
