Citizen Journalism is when private individuals do essentially what professional reporters do – report information. That information can take many forms, from a podcast editorial to a report about a city council meeting on a blog. It can include text, pictures, audio and video.

Citizen Journalism is concept where common people like us report/cover news.A person who does that regularly is a citizen journalist. For example if you have a camera phone and you sighted a major airplane accident, then by recording it and giving that sending that video to new channel authorities makes you a citizen journalist. Many times citizen journalists even write articles on current issues or awarness and submit it to news channels. (Example : iREPORT on CNN)
