Как сказать по-русский.../How to say in Russian... I'm wondering how to say "dare" in Russian. "Dare" as "to have courage to do something". What is the verb (& aspects) used to express that? Thank you all for your answers but frankly, I can't get any advantage of a sheer list of words. I'd find it more more useful if you could give me some phrases regarding the words you mentioned. For example, could you translate the following sentences: How did you dare go out in the dark? How did you dare take the snake in your hand? Cпасибо большое :)

Как ты смеешь брать мои вещи! (Present) How dare you take my things! Как ты посмел взять мои джинсы! (Past) How did you dare take my jeans! Не смей брать мои вещи! (Imperative) Don't you dare take my things!
