a trailer hitch In John Grisham's "Firm", chapter 13, page 204 which describes a shabby trailer park, says : "It was more like a slum on wheels, or a project with a trailer hitch.", "One window above the trailer hitch was badly cracked and held together with gray electrical tape." what does "hitch" mean here, is it a part of a trailer? I looked up dictionaries and could not find out. thanks a lot

The trailer hitch is a means of hauling some wheeled vehicle behind a trailer or a car or truck. It is a ball and joint mechanism. The ball is on the hauling vehicle. The hauled vehicle has a piece that fits over the ball so that they can be connected.
