take over from somebody Computers will soon take over from school teachers. Can I use 'replace' instead of 'take over from'?

Yes, actually "take over" means "replace". But I personally would prefer "take over" because it gives me a stronger feeling. In other words, "take over" sounds stronger than simply "replace". take over يشتد مدى إلحاح الوضع أن الحاسبة ستحلّ محل المعلمين

"Take over" is much better. You can use "replace" if you like, though. I don't see computers taking over though.
