What does ever mean? The first ever cartoon produced in Afghanistan. I can use it in negative and interrogative question. But in affirmative sentences I don´t know what it means. Which words can I relate it?

"ever" is the contrary of "never", it means "at any time".

= The first cartoon ever produced in Afghanistan. Ever= from the beginning until now. "beginning" can vary according to context.

"ever" = "at any time" Which is why it can't really work in positive sentences. Use something more suitable like "often", "always" or even "once" (if it was one event).
