This reminds me of a famous line from an old play "A Streetcar Named Desire" by Tennessee Williams: "Whoever you are, I have always depended on the kindness of strangers." To me, a person who would depend on the "kindness of strangers" is probably a very trusting person, perhaps too trusting, since we know that sometimes strangers often expect something in return for their "kindness."
