Mammals, besides people, have litters, as long as there is more than one. Apes for instance do not have litters because they have one little ape. The pig had a litter of 12 piglets. Bird eggs are a clutch, when they hatch they are a brood. The duck guided her brood across the road. Women 'squeeze out' babies Some populations should squeeze out more babies :)

You could probably get by with saying the mother birthed two children but you don't hear it much. The woman gave birth to twins. The United Kingdom has a low birth rate for Caucasian children. Government policies were implemented to encourage the propagation of more children to this race. Despite the best efforts of the government, the United Kingdom and the European countries have seen a marked decline in birth rates of Caucasians. Their might be a different way of defining the birth of a penguin or rabbit or other animal but I imagine it would usually be the same wording. The penguin mother gave birth to a fine baby penguin. Having not eaten for months, she immediately waddled over to the father and let him watch junior while she went for a journey in the ocean to search for food.
