About 'be far removed from' I know that 'far removed from' means 'very different from', but I wonder if it can be used to replace 'nowhere near' or 'by no means'. For example, is the sentence right? 'Nowadays many TV programs are far removed from being comprehensible to uneducated people'

Zander, Your sentence is fine, even sophisticated in its use of a gerund. very different from something... something = being comprehensible to uneducated people. From the internet: Being a rock idol isn't far removed from being the biggest movie star on the planet. Intelligent behavior of computers continues to improve, but these machines are still far removed from being conscious of the world around them.
