If I want suggest some do something, how can I express politely?

For a direct request, start with "could you please...." and then add the direction. Make it sound like a question. Help me! --> Could you please help me? Or, use another "padding" phrase. How about you...? Why don't you...? Have you thought about...? (use the -ing form for the verb: "have you thought about doing this?")
