Which sentence is well written? The surface of the moon is peppered with craters. The surface of the moon is studded with craters. The surface of the moon is pitted with craters. Please note: this question is only for English native speakers.

"Pitted" is the best word, since it means a small hole or indentation. "Peppered" means covered with, and implies that someone scattered something across the surface (in fact, it was asteroids that made the craters); "studded" can refer to a raised surface (which is actually the opposite of a crater).
