English help here! "How many marks are required to pass the test?" Is this sentence grammatically correct? Also, is it a common question to use in this case? If not, then can you correct it?

You can also say, "What is the minimum requirement to pass the test."

The sentence is grammatically correct, but needs to be re-worded to make sense. The mark is the score or grade, so we are talking the level of just one score, so 'how many' is innappropriate. The sentence should be; How high a mark is required to pass the test.
