Many tractor motors have pushrods that connect the camshaft to rocker arms in the cylinder head. These engines are cheaper to manufacture. John Deere prefers to use the "Cam-in-head design with heavy-duty rocker arms" because "it is the most accurate method to control valve action and electronic injection". It is one of the reasons why John Deere believes its tractors are better than other tractors , but also one of the reasons why they are more expensive.
