"To punge headlong into work". Does it mean "to start working right away"? Can I use "To punge headlong into" with other verbs?

It means to start doing something with a lot of enthusiasm but without thinking about it first. You can use it with other verbs, but it is probably most commonly used with work.

The word is "plunge". plunge = dive (into water)
