Do these sentences have the same meaninig? "I'm suspicious of him." and "I suspect him."

The two sentences are very similar in meaning, but not exactly the same. I'm suspicious of him. - the person makes the speaker uneasy for some reason. But the speaker is not sure why. I suspect him. - something has happened. The speaker things that the person did it. Although both sentences could be about the same subject, "suspicious" is vaguer.
