Bedeck, deck, decorate. What's the difference?

To decorate is to add items to something to make it look more attractive or have some specific look. "They decorated the cake with icing." To deck is to decorate something for some specific purpose or a particular look. "They decked themselves in costumes for Halloween." To bedeck is to decorate something for the purpose of making it look more festive. "They bedecked the hall with streamers and balloons for the party."
