What are the rules of the following punctuations? I know there is no space before a comma "," , one space after. What's the rule of period ".", semicolon ";" and other punctuations? You can add everything you know. Thanks a lot.

Pretty much the same rule: a space must follow. If the space is missing, the words appear to run together and the text becomes difficult to read. Have a look at some online articles and blogs and observe how the punctuation is written.
