A question about starting a sentence with "Here...."? If we are referring to a plural noun, which of the following sentence is correct? 1. Here are the books I borrowed from you. 2. Here is the books I borrowed from you. Thank you in advance.

"Here" is an adverb in this sentence so it can't be the subject. "books" is the subject therefore the correct verb form is "are"
