Whether or not you want to use the preposition TO it is up to you. The sentences are both correct and there is no difference between them. HELP + (to) infinitive = something or someone helps to do something

The first one sounds perfectly natural. The second one sounds wooden and formal and is only said by people trying to learn English. :P
