Is that correct? "I have mistaked in my letter." is that sentance correct or I shall say "made mistake"

I made a mistake in my letter. I would just say it like that. Simple past is the best tense to use here. Also, the past tense of the word "mistake" is "mistook", not "mistaked". I just wanted to let you know.
