very simple recommendation--- first and most important is "do acting", choose the right concept( like-jury people loves the concept of "touch story" "realistic" without unnecessary drama), and nice presentation, (and as all the jury members are from west so many time i saw that some east movies which were so good but didnt get the award, why? bcz what concept they used according their culture,jury didnt understand that, so always use those concepts which "western people can understand".................. (and finally if you know personally that who will be in jury people then try to give them money or gifts he he he he dont take this seriously i am joking this time)

There is an oscar is most of the categories and the picture has to be good first for them to have any chance to win an oscar. So, try to work with good directors and make sure first that the script is good. Then, give your best performance. Know enough background about your roles to be able to become that character on screen. Also, work hard :P
