if something like a severe cold is killing me,can I say... "what can I do to(but not "for") you(the cold)"???I know that sounds self-talking,is that ok?

You can say: This cold is killing me/this cold will be the end of me

What can I do to keep you from becoming an icicle? What can I do to keep you from freezing solid to the ground right here? What can I do to keep you from turning blue?

I think this question is a little confusing, are you personifying the cold? I feel like what every statement you make in relation to your cold would be referring to getting rid of the feelings.
