'Segue' is sometimes spelled 'seqway', which is the way it is pronounced. It is a fairly new word and has come into use much more in the last 20 years. It means a smooth transition from one subject, situation or phase, to another one. 'Continue' could mean just doing whatever it was that one was doing. It might describe a transition, but it might not be smooth.
