Question: Why not eliminate "and" in the part of "the new version matches the full sense of the original and incidentally", because I think the "incidentally" is the adverb that modifies the verb "match". Is it right?incidentally = by the way ???

Yes, it is similar to 'by the way', or 'additionally'. It could also have been written as two sentences, if you omit the 'and'. e.g. "... of the original. Incidentally..."
