What does association mean? The power of words, then, lies in their ASSOCIATIONS - the things they bring up before our minds. Words become filled with meanig for us by EXPERIENCE; and the longer we live, the more certain words recall to us the glad and sad events of our past; and the more we read and learn, the more the number of words that mean something increases. What does associations and its appositive 'the things they bring up before our minds' mean? Do you think 'experience' should be 'experiences'? Thank you.

An example of associations: Winter/snow Holiday/food School/studying hard Our experience (as a whole), or different experiences, make stronger associations in our mind. The more often your mind connects these things, or associates them, the deeper the memory and meaning.
1. Experience is correct. 2. Associatioin = cause and effect of thoughts. One thought gives rise to the next and so on. Thus all thoughts are in fact connected along this thread. This thread is called ASSOCIATION. A parallel in the physical world is called CAUSALITY. Or more simply known as CAUSE AND EFFECT.
