How can I make these more natural? Breathing through the lungs is involuntary. The two main functions of the respiratory center is to initiate impulses that travel via nerves to the breathing muscles (diaphragms and intercostal muscles) and adjusts the rate and depth of breathing. In the body, the right lung is composed of three lobes and the left lung is composed of two lobes.

The breathing of the lungs is involuntary. We don't breathe through the lungs. We breathe through our noses. The two main functions of the respiratory center ARE to initiate impulses that travel via nerves to the breathing muscles (diaphragm and intercostal muscles) and to adjust the rate and depth of breathing.
