What does "out in the water" mean? What does "out in the water" mean? please!!The coast is the shoreline, where the water and land meet. "Off the coast" means out in the water.

Anything that is in the water if you are on land. For example, at a beach if people are swimming, they are "out in the water", and any boats would be "out in the water". "Out" just implies some distance away.
