The chief of police said that he saw no connection between the six murders. Note: Since there are six murders, do you think it should be “among” instead of “between”? I personally prefer “between” over "among".

'no connection between' is the correct English You could alternatively say 'no similarity between'. Among would never be used after the word connection.

between always for two (never among(st) But with more ... I'd avoid both to avoid any awkwardness 'The six murders are all unconnected/are not connected' Amongst considers the collection ... You Could say 'Amongst the six murders there are no two connected'
