differences between waiting for and waiting out Hi, could you please tell me the differences (if so) between those two sentences: I am waiting it out I am waiting for it Thanks !!

When you are waiting out something, you are waiting for it to end. When you are waiting for something, you are waiting for it to arrive. We waited outside for the storm to arrive. Then, when it arrived, we went inside and waited it out in front of the television.
