how to read this abbreviation? I thought I'd check on the prices for, well, CD players. in this sentence "I'd check" is read "I check"? when I listened to MP3, I felt it was read "I check". It seemed that I could not hear the 'd prononciation. Then can you tell me how to read it? Also there are many words I know, but I cant know it by my ears, are there any rules for this kind of words ? weak or changing sound? Thanks!

I'd = I would The "d" is definitely pronounced. Keep in mind that in English, we wouldn't say a vowel between the 'd' and the 'ch' like in Chinese.
