What does "Messiness" mean in the context? ① Suppose we need to measure the temperature in a vineyard. ② If we have only one temperature sensor for the whole plot of land, we must make sure it is accurate and working all the times; no messiness allowed. What does "Messiness" mean in the context?

Messiness usually means "untidiness" or "dirtiness" from the adjective 'messy' meaning untidy or cluttered. However here, I think it means "inaccuracy" or "a situation other than the desirable one". So the sensor must work, without any inaccuracy or downtime.
