Why did the writer use present perfect tense instead of past tense in this sentence "has delivered"? A truck that has delivered its load needs to find another load for its journey back to home base, rather than return empty. The perfect tenses all give the idea that an action is completed before another action. The delivery must be completed before the trucks can find another load to take back to home base. How do you say that? With the present perfect! The action of delivering is completely finished before the action of finding another load. Good question!
