Spawn "No one has sighted one of those demon spawn in nearly a millenium" "Summoning the spawn of the Old Gods" Around the net they say it's an egg. Waaaat? I don't think. What does it mean, please?

It can be used as a general word for "reproduce", but usually it is reserved for creatures that reproduce by laying eggs in water. For example, salmon swim upstream to spawn.

It's not exactly an egg, rather an ancient word for it. In your ecampl the egg of gods sound funny, however their spawn looks fine and ancient. http://en.m.wiktionary.org/wiki/spawn
